Chrome Viscera

Sometimes, I feel like my insides are made of metal; heavy, weighing my body down to a dead weight. I often get this feeling when out among my creative peers, as my self doubt and imposter syndrome make me feel unworthy among them.

"Chrome Viscera" became a symbol of my vulnerability, a visceral, almost anatomical form that shifts between flesh and chrome. Intimate and confronting, I wanted this piece to reflect how negative emotions can feel heavy and internalized. Every time I look at this piece, I realize the harm of internalizing such emotions, and the importance being kind to oneself and not trying to compare to others.
